Alex Gingell

I could do the rising trot before I could walk by all accounts. Eventing was my thing as a child. I gained my place on the junior team in 1987. Ranked 31 in the eventing top 100, I was the youngest competitor in a field of 120 on the youngest horse to do a double clear at Blenheim Advanced International *** , qualifying for Burghley.  Unfortunately a rotational fall 2 weeks later at Weston Park Advanced abruptly slowed things down.

The 3 years that followed I got into my dressage seriously. List 6, 5 and 4 in 3 consecutive years whilst studying a Ba (Hons) in Equine Studies at Moreton Morrell. I was presented a Young trainers scholarship with Gill Watson before competing in eventing in NZ.

Then 2 decades of business in the supplement industry whilst dressage judging, posting dressage tips online and juggling a growing family has resulted in me being founder and MD of internationally accredited Hack Up Bespoke Ltd. My wife, soulmate, business partner and Inter 1 dressage competitor Jayne watches my back and we both work tirelessly and with passion to help each other reach our dreams.

I’m new on the FEI Judges list in 2019, and working on an upgrade to List 3. Greatly looking forward to being on ground juries domestically and abroad. Very excited about dressage becoming more and more digital over the coming years and look forward to the harnessing of technology for the good of the sport.  Loving E-Riders!
