Moira Richardson

Hello, I am Moira Richardson and I am one of the lovely team of judges for Haygrazer E Riders.  I have been judging for more years than I care to remember and am currently a list 3 British Dressage Judge.  That means I can judge all tests up to Medium Level for British Dressage and all Pony Club, Riding Club and a load of British Eventing tests too!  Being a BD judge means committing to ongoing training - we have to attend a seminar every year for our list and most of us attend lots of training with the tutor judges (who are all very senior BD judges).  The exam process to qualify is very rigorous too - let Susie know if you want to know the details and we can fill you all in!!

I have owned horses for more than 30 years and have ridden and trained to Advanced level dressage, including having ridden at the Home Internationals - representing England and Northern Region.  Currently, I have 3 horses - Bouncer who is a delightful grey 16.1 ID x TB and he is an ex eventer I am now reschooling for dressage, Adi who is my WB broodmare (she is related to Totilas!) and Daisy, my 5 year old pony (Adi's daughter) who is hopefully destined for a career in dressage and maybe even pony teams!  In addition to the horses, I have a Labrador dog - gorgeous girlie called Pippin.

Outside of riding and judging, I am a qualified Equine Touch and VHT Practitioner - which means I do soft tissue bodywork on horses and humans (and training for dogs too).  This is a big change from my original profession which was an IT Programme Manager and meant me travelling all over the UK and abroad.

My favourite chocolates are (well, you can't possibly have just one favourite chocolate surely?) Monty Bojangles, Ferrero Rocher and....actually I just adore chocolate so any will do!!

I don't have a favourite film, although I love watching any good films.

What am I afraid of?  Heights!!  Absolutely hate heights....and spiders.....and snakes.....
